When Hunter was born with underdeveloped lungs, people like you helped his family get the equipment he needed to get stronger and healthier at home.

Not every child is dreaming of a toy this holiday season. Some children dealing with respiratory problems in Alberta wish for nothing more than to leave the hospital and go home for the holidays.

Unfortunately, the equipment they need to go home safely can be impossibly expensive for their families. Without it, they have no choice but to stay in the hospital for extended periods of time, just like Hunter did after he was born 7 weeks premature.

In the NICU, Hunter needed a continuous positive air pressure (CPAP) machine to support his breathing. Because he was so small, he couldn’t be sent home without costly specialized equipment. His family didn’t know how they would manage to get it—until they found the Alberta Lung Association, a leader in the fight for healthy lungs and air since the 1930s.

Thanks to our generous donors, Hunter went home with the equipment he needed. And today, he’s thriving!
