HELP US RAISE CRUCIAL FUNDS AND DECORATE THE ALBERTA LUNG TREE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!
This Christmas, we’re on a mission to bring families together for the holidays by providing much needed equipment, meals or housing to those who are affected by lung disease.
1 in 5 Albertans are impacted by lung disease and need your support this holiday season.
Join us in the Alberta Lung 12 Days of Christmas as we join together to decorate the Alberta Lung tree and raise funds to bring family members home, provide essential equipment, and support those in need.

We invite you to participate in the 12 Days of Christmas.
Each day, we will release a new goal amount along with a story from people impacted by lung disease and by the work Alberta Lung is doing.
When each goal is met, we will decorate the Alberta Lung tree with some festive ornaments! Follow along on Social Media to see how the tree is doing!
Today we open the first gift of our 12 Days of Christmas campaign!
This season, your generosity helps bring families back together — and helps patients return home for the holidays.
Join us as we aim to raise funds to support Alberta families facing lung disease.
Let’s decorate this season with kindness. ❤️

When we hit our goal, we’ll add our 12 Days of Christmas ornament to our tree!

It’s Giving Tuesday!
Today, your generosity brings families one step closer to being reunited for the holidays.
Many Albertans affected by lung disease are hoping — just like you and I — to spend Christmas at home with the people they love.
Your gift today helps make that possible.
Give the gift of breathing this Giving Tuesday.

At the end of Giving Tuesday, we’ll light up the tree with some colourful lights!

“My only wish is to be home with my kids for Christmas.” This is the reality many Alberta families face each holiday season. Your gift today helps patients return to the warmth of home.
Here’s a story from a lung transplant recipient:
“I’m here today because someone gave me the gift of life.”
As a lung transplant recipient, I’m forever grateful to my donor and their family. Thanks to supporters of the Alberta Lung Association, I also received the care and support I needed through this journey.
This #ThankfulThursday, I’m filled with gratitude. Thank you for giving us the gift of life, hope, and a future.
Donate Today to help more families like mine.

When we hit our goal, we’ll add garland to our tree!

For many of us, the holidays mean warmth, family, and time together.
But for families facing lung disease, the season can be filled with fear and uncertainty.
This year, we want to share Maria’s story.
Maria is a 42-year-old mother of three from Calgary. When a sudden respiratory crisis sent her to hospital earlier this fall, she found herself fighting not only for her breath — but for the chance to be home by Christmas.
“I kept thinking about my kids decorating the tree without me.”
Every day, families like Maria’s wait for progress, treatment, and stability — hoping they’ll hear the words, “You can go home.”
This holiday season, your donation helps provide:
🎁 Transitional support for patients leaving hospital
🎁 Breathing equipment and resources
🎁 Navigation help for families overwhelmed by lung disease
🎁 Programs that support safe recovery at home

When we hit our goal, we’ll add a lit up home ornament to our tree in honour of those who are now able to come home for the holidays!

Not every child is dreaming of a toy this holiday season. Some children dealing with respiratory problems in Alberta wish for nothing more than to leave the hospital and go home for the holidays.
Unfortunately, the equipment they need to go home safely can be impossibly expensive for their families. Without it, they have no choice but to stay in the hospital for extended periods of time, just like Hunter did after he was born 7 weeks premature.
When we hit our goal, we’ll add some custom “most needed items” to our tree!

We’d love to hear from you:

This time of year, we often think about giving joy, comfort, and support. But for some Albertans, the most essential gift is simply the ability to breathe.
Meet Ravi.
At 26, he has lived with asthma his whole life. But when he recently lost his benefits after a job change, he suddenly discovered how costly his medication truly is.
“I didn’t realize how expensive inhalers were until I had to buy one out-of-pocket.”
“I stretched it as long as I could — too long.”
Ravi ended up in the ER after an avoidable asthma attack.
This holiday season, hundreds of Albertans are in the same position — going without breathing medications because they simply can’t afford them.
Your donation today helps support:
🎁 Emergency medication programs
🎁 Access to asthma education and management
🎁 Navigation for people who lose coverage
🎁 Preventing avoidable hospital visits
Today’s goal is $10,000 to expand programs that make sure no one has to skip medication because of cost.

Every family has traditions — and for Mark’s family, it’s Christmas breakfast.
This year, he hopes he’ll be well enough to join them.
Mark is a 58-year-old father from Red Deer recovering from major lung surgery. The procedure was successful, but recovery has been slow, exhausting, and emotionally draining.
“My daughter asked if I’d be there for breakfast and watch the kids open presents. I said I’d try my best.”
The reality is that healing from lung disease isn’t just medical — it’s deeply personal. Patients must rebuild strength, mobility, confidence, and breathing capacity.
Your donation today helps provide:
🎁 Transitional care support after surgery
🎁 Breathing equipment and rehabilitation resources
🎁 Home-based recovery guidance
🎁 Emotional support for families
Today’s goal is $10,000, helping Albertans like Mark return to the moments that matter.
